Ok we have run into somewhat of a dilemma. It is time to start figuring out the shower (party) situation. I know that usually when people get married they have a registry and they put down everything they need or want, our problem is that we both have been out on our own for a few years now, so all of your basic wedding registry items have been purchased. We know that our friends what to throw us a shower and want to know what they can get us. I got an idea that it would be neat to have something like an entertaining shower. Something similar to a stock the bar, but not only request those types of items but also serve ware. Surprisingly we really don’t have platters or anything for when people come over. But the problem is what the heck would u call it and how exactly could u theme it?

- table linens-cloths, naplins,placemats
- gourmet or specialty cookbooks
That’s Entertainment was a movie in the 70’s.
Use top hat and tails theme for invitations, old movie posters for decor.

@Charleston: You could always create a separate, smaller registry for serving pieces and include it on the invitation. Maybe call your theme “Food and Water” and include a pretty pitcher or some glasses too?
We had a fun Jack & Jill shower for my friend and the theme was Liquor and Lingerie–he got a ton of Wild Turkey and Jack, she got some beautiful lingerie… it was a win win!
