I think that when you show your Fiance the dress on models that unless you ARE a model, he’s not getting an idea of what it will look like on YOU.  I watch SYTTD with Fiance (turning the channel when my dress is featured) and he comments on things he likes or doesn’t like on the dresses.  But he likes how I normally dress so he wasn’t worried and nor was I about him liking my dress ๐Ÿ™‚

Fi went with me to the seamstress when I went in for alterations.  He saw me in the dress but won’t see me in the final tailored dress until 8 days from now…only because he won’t be there with me when I go in for my final fitting this Thursday.  ๐Ÿ™‚

He bought it for me and seen me in the dress sort of… it’s too long and too big so after it gets altered, he will see it in me (fitted and perfect) on our weding day!

Nope, I want him to see me in it when I walk down the aisle.

No way, no how, it’s locked away and still in the bag just in case he happened to walk into the room it’s being kept in at my grandma’s house. I don’t want him to see it! He knows what I was looking for when I went dress shopping, but I ended up with something totally different so I want to surprise him!

Yep, I had it hanging in the closet and showed him. Not one me, but on the hanger. No biggie.

No way will I be showing him the dress, I’m not superstitious, just very traditional.

ETA: We won’t be spending the night before the wedding together, won’t be seeing each other the morning of, or do a first look. We want the first time we see each other on our wedding day to be as I am walking up the aisle ๐Ÿ™‚

Nope, not because I’m traditional or superstitious, I just like surprises.

I think you need to do whatever makes most sense. My Fiance was crucial in helping me at the initial stage of wedding dress shopping, because I was too body-conscious. My family and close friends all live very far away from here, so he was my biggest source of support. It really helped that we went together and he was so sweet and supportive. So he has definitely seen me in a lot of wedding dresses. But he has not seen the final one I selected, because by then I had gained enough confidence to be going to stores by myself ๐Ÿ™‚

I answered other. Fiance is ADAMANT about not seeing me until I walk down the aisle (no first look or anything). But, I wanted his opinion on styles of dresses so I showed him 15-20 different ones that I had liked to get his opinion. He knew one of them was my favorite but didn’t want to know which one. I was very good about not saying anything (soooo hard) but he was great about giving feedback on what he liked and didn’t like. Luckily, my favorite was one of the ones he relaly liked and it was the dress I ended up getting!

I would LOVE to show him (in fact, I wanted him to come shopping with me, which he agreed, and then backed out at the last minute), but he is adamant about not seeing it. He saw the ones I tried on and didn’t choose, but knows nothing about the dress that I did choose.

I’m not showing Fiance the dress not for superstitious reasons, but because I want to surprise him. Initially, I had thought about it, but then I realized I wanted to see the look on his face when he sees me in my gown and veil…so I’m voting no. ๐Ÿ™‚
