(Closed) Showing your parents the ceremony script?

Haha, when I officiated my sister’s wedding I didn’t show a SOUL what I had written (even the bride and groom didn’t know what my speech would be), and then when my Brother-In-Law officiated our wedding, he was also top secret about it! It was awesome though — certain things are just better as a surprise! (as long as the surprise isn’t that the ceremony is 45 minutes long)

So, I wouldn’t show it to them. Just tell them IT’S A SURPRISE!

Hah I was in the same boat you were. We had a non-religious ceremony and my mom spent hours and hours whining about how she didn’t think there could possibly be a ceremony without a mention of god, what could we fill 30 minutes with if there wasn’t prayer, and how she thought we would embarass her in front of everyone blah blah blah blah blah. I finally just showed it to her about a month before to get her to shut up about it. :p It worked! My mom and the officiant were the only ones that read it before the day.
