sometimesoon: I would say my dress is pretty dramatic. Not what I was initially interested in but when I saw it my jaw dropped. So i ended ho purchasing it. My veil is very simple. Two later plain elbow length.

sometimesoon: thank you. It’s the one thing I did not compromise on and paid For myself. FH was at first not on board with me buying my own dress but we decided he could spend what he was plannibg to on a dress on other wedding expenses. So it workout out.

Hi! Not sure if my dress is considered showy or dramatic to others, but I have had a lot of very big reactions from it! I think the back and color is pretty dramatic.

sometimesoon: Definitely going for the Dramatic look. I’m having a black lace with champagne underneath fit and flare gown being made. My accessories range from double layer chapel length black veil, black crystal/beaded belt, emerald green chandelier earrings, and deep red lips.

Are you debating between simple or showy?

sometimesoon: I sure hope so! I always thought black veils might be too funeral looking but the long veils are exactly that, AMAZING! haha… I’m right there with you. It really is one of the few times in your life to go as big as you want, SO WHY NOT?!?! PSH practicality is overrated ;). There are many options you could do if reception and dancing feels like a worry: get a second dress, have a removable skirt to make yours shorter/simpler, have a really good bustle, or say screw it and dance your heart away in your big dress and people are just going to have to get out of your way!

I like to think of my dress as undercover showy a bit. TBH, I was set on getting a lace dress but when I saw this beauty I just had to have it. Like seriously, I’ve been completely obsessed with this dress ever since I first saw it. It’s an Alfred Angelo style 246 – Tiana from the Disney Princess Collection.

I don’t have any pics of me in it but here’s what it looks like:

See how cute and unassuming it looks in this picture? Now here’s something that is more closer to real life.

This isn’t my exact dress. A dress twin took a pic of her dress and posted it on another thread. It has really similar specs to mine but I will be adding onto the train to make it cathedral length. I loved the idea of the beading and the pattern looking like a lotus. It was so different from all the dresses that I’ve tried on. It’s super ironic that I picked a Disney princess dress since I’m not very “princess” like (I’ve always been a tomboy) and it’s a ballgown (which I’ve been in fear of because I’m only 5’0 and all the other ballgowns turn me into a huge cupcake).

I haven’t really decided on the veil yet (they are so danged expensive!) but here’s an idea that I do have in my head right now.

This one is on Etsy. I can’t remember how much it costs but as soon as I saw it, I pinned it. I want something similar to this but I’m really wanting it in a drop veil form so I can get the blusher too.

My dress was more simple/elegant and my veil was more elaborate/huge. I liked the combination.

I would call my dress kind of dramatic and showy. It sparkles a ton too!
