@nearly-mrs-R:  Hmm, I mean, when the weather/temperature varies from hot to cold fingers will swell when hot and shrink when cold. Is that what you’re talking about?

maybe you have less inflammation these days (due to healthier diet for example), or less water retention (you may be drinking more water and ingesting less salt and diuretics).

my fingers have shrunk 2 sizes over the past 5 years or so. i used to wear an 8.5 or 9 in rings, now i’m down to a 6.5. they swell in the summer when it’s hot, and shrink when it’s cold. but as for genuine “i have to resize all my rings” shrinkage? i had 2 sizes over 5 years. it happens. but now i can try on sample jewelry at stores (: i didn’t used to be able to.

Salt can make your fingers swell, as the above comment mentions. If you’ve used less salt or just didn’t that day it can make a difference. Temp as well but I believe that was already covered.
