I ordered our wedding albums off Shutterfly and they turned out amazing. I too had issues with the photos uploading and looking blurry. It took me a few times but I finally got them to upload. Are you trying to upload them ALL at once? Perhaps try a few at at time, especially if they’re super hi-res.

Our parents liked the books so much they’re both ordering their own version. I’d be happy to take some pics of ours if you’d like to see, just PM me and give me a day or two to get the photos uploaded!

I use shutterfly for all my photography books, from my kids shots to our wedding, and I love them!  As long as you are uploading high-resolution photos they won’t be blurry.  I highly recommned the matte finish and lay-flat pages too!

We used Shutterfly and the book turned out great. I did not have the issues you are describing though. It should tell you if the resolution isn’t high enough.

I snapped a couple photos:

We also used Mixbook and those turned out great as well. We gave those to our parents though so I don’t have any pictures.

sofabean :  I make one shutterfly album for us each year & LOVE them…  I have had the blurry issue as well online, but when the book arrives it’s usually pretty clear (except with some of our older pics, but it gave me a resolution warning at the upload for those). I love that they have so many sales so I usually wait & get them at least half off, and I add the pocket to the back so I can throw in any small memento’s like tickets or whatever… I’m waay behind though & need to do some catchin up!

We made wedding photo books as gifts to our parents, using high resolution photos from our photographer. They turned out amazingly! We just had standard pages and cover, though I’ve seen ones with the matte cover and they are really nice.

We used Shutterfly to make our wedding album and albums for our parents. I didn’t have any issues with blurry photos, but I did upload them all in smaller batches as opposed to all at once (so not sure if that made a difference). I left the cover and pages as standard, but I completely second PPs recommendation of lay flat pages – we did them in our wedding album and the whole finish is just amazing!

sofabean :  I just get the standard since it’s not for any special event, it’s just our photos from the year… Never tried to write in it, but I’d skip the glossy if your writing in it- I’d just be too worried about smearing & if it’s just a guestbook there really isnt a need for the extra cost either…
