Our out of town guests are renting cars and driving themselves around.  Wish I could be more helpful!

Our Out of Town guests were all old enough to rent their own cars and have their own fun.  We wouldn’t have been able to pay to shuttle them around to stuff anyway.

When we’ve traveled internationally, my family has rented a car and fended for ourselves. I think its reasonable to expect even your international guests to rent their own cars. I’d probably give them a little more info, like the name and number of a rental place, but i’d still figure they can do it on their own. Maybe if one of them is 87 year old grandma, I’d have a relative take care of picking her up and taking her around, but other than providing info about car rentals or public transit/airport shuttles/cabs, I don’t think its your responsibility.

ETA: And maps–pick up a bunch of free maps/brochures/etc for them! (you can get free maps from AAA)

We’re arranging a shuttle from the hotel to the wedding and back (actually a school bus), but I really can’t imagine trying to plan more than that. I may have one friend fly in early in the week, I’ll pick her up, but other than that, I would expect people to use airport shuttles (like super shuttle–I’ve used it in LA) to get to the hotel.

I suppose maybe you could arrange some single day trips, like on Tuesday, plan a trip to Disneyland and offer vans from the hotel to there and back, but I think it would be crazy for you to provide all of the transportation for everyone the whole time they are there. LA does have some public transit. Buses may not be peoples favorite option, but they’re there and will get you around.

I agree!  When you travel internationally, don’t you make your own arrangements?  It’s the same thing here except they have to take one day off od disneyland to go to your wedding.  It’s a nice touch if you can provide them with a list of cool things to do, good places to eat, etc. but you are not responsible for anything other than providing them with a seat and a meal at your wedding!  Let them figure it all out themselves, and give advice if asked!

We’re not providing anything for them, unfortunately. I don’t think you’re responsible for any of their transport. Obviously it’d be nice, but how can you possibly coordinate for everyone? I’m sure they’ll just do whatever they usually do when they travel.

Our Out of Town guests are probably renting their own cars. However, there is a free shuttle for them to get from the hotel to the ceremony/reception site and back. Other than that, they’re on there own because it just isn’t in our budget. Many of our Out of Town guests are treating it as a mini-vacation and planning to go to areas around ours and do fun things before coming to the wedding!

Our city is really small :/ but the hotels that we’re doing our blocks with are 1) on site with the ceremony + reception site AND offer an airport shuttle, or 2) offer airport shuttle + wedding shuttle AND are within walking distance of a bunch of chain restaurants and a strip mall (yay Target!).

We don’t expect many people to stick around for long though.
