For teeny-tiny stones I don’t think you should notice. Let’s see some pictures Wink

For tiny pave type stones, I don’t think there’d be a difference. As long as they sparkle, you should be good. 🙂

Is there a significant difference in color?  Also, clarity will make more of a difference if the stones in your diamond band are 10 points or larger (IMO).  Personally, I’d make sure the colors were very close.  I’m assuming if the diamonds in the band are I2, they are promotional grade, and are probably not well cut, which is going to impact the sparkle as well.  Take the band OUT of the fancy jewelry store lighting; go over by a window so that you can use the natural light to check the sparkle.  Jewelry stores have all this fancy lighting to make everything in the store look like a million bucks.

In my opinion cut and colour are more important then clarity in the smaller stones….ask to take it into some natural light before you buy it so you can see it without those crazy store lights

Most jewelry stores use lower clarity diamonds when the diamond is smaller than .20 carats for say, a wedding band.  Color grades are way more important, and cut, if they’re bigger than diamond chips.

Yea the color was what I was most concerned about I could have gotten a larger solitaire but it was yellow compared to the band I wanted and clarity’s where basically the same

@loveknows:  I had I2 diamonds in my wedding band and we saw every inclusion in it BUT this was because I was dealing with a sketchy jeweler.  They probably gave my the crappiest diamonds they could.  It was a hassle in itself to remove and replace those diamonds.  So, I’m glad they gave you a good return policy!

@Mrs Canuck:  Ditto!  I saw all the flaws in the diamonds in natural light.

@GelaMac:  FOR SURE!  I was looking at a band at Kay Jewelers (during my shopping frenzy) that came in their promotional grade, and then their Leo diamond grade, and the difference (even under the crazy jewelry store lights) was phenomonal!!  The promotional was not nearly as white, which won’t match my near-colourless solitaire.
