I’m not looking for health advice but has anyone else been sick for more than 2 weeks? I know about 5 people that has been sick for over two weeks and I am going on my 3rd week. Something is going around work and my school and it is not good! First, I started off with bronchitis. I was starting to feel better the last 3 days and now I have a cold and sore throat. 🙁

I work with a lady who was sick for over a month. For three weeks it was just cold symptoms, but then she got bronchitis or something too. I’ve been sniffling a lot lately, but I’m just pretending it’s allergies :P.

My mom was recently sick for almost 3 weeks, finally caved in and went to the doctor and was feeling 100% the next day with a simple 5 day antibiotic treatment.

I’ve been coughing for about a week and I was feeling a bit sub-par for a while before that. I went to two separate RNs and both say its just in my throat and nothing wrong with my lungs and not bacterial, so no antibiotics. That’s all well and good except I can’t breathe well all the time. But apparently there’s enough oxygen in my blood so that’s not a problem either….I’m tired of feeling this way, but I sort of just have to wait it out and keep trying different things to treat the symptoms.

I’m been coughing non stop too. When I got bronchitis in early Sept, the doctor gave me antibotics and made me feel a whole lot better but I haven’t gotten a chance to go recently. Busy with school, work and wedding planning!

In high school I was sick for about 3-4 weeks…cold-like symptoms, sore throat, & an increasingly hoarse cough. My doctor diagnosed it as a cold / allergies and told me to take allergy medication and tylenol and wait. I was at a church activity one weekend afternoon and started feeling HORRIBLE. My mom picked me up & took my temperature and it was 105 or 106! We went to the ER and it turned out I had bronchitis and walking pneumonia.
I would say DEFINITELY go to the doctor, or at least have a plan in place for if you start getting a high fever or feeling worse at an inopportune time. Going to the ER is usually not a fun option. (A lot of money and sitting around just to get one of their super doses of tylenol-like drugs to combat the fever).

ME! OMG. I caught what I have lovingly been referring to as “the gunk” from my Fiance. He went to student health and they said it was a virus and he just has to work through it. Since we’re broke and I have what seems to be the same thing, I have also been working through it. Seems like a cold. I lost my voice for about 4 days, and lately it seems like it is turning into bronchitis, but it seems like that also has to be worked through. I hate it!

I responded pre-Diet Coke & realized afterward (once my brain was working correctly ) that you specifically said you were not looking for medical advice! Sooo I apologize for giving medical advice and I hope you start feeling better soon! (that goes for all of you poor sick bees).

This spring I was sick for a good 3 weeks with a bad cold. It sucked. I usually don’t get sick very often, so I was surprised when the crud hung on that long.
