ugh i have the same thing.  Hot drinks are the only things helping me croak out sentances at work.  I usually go to sleep when i have a fever, my dad does too, and sweat it out…under lots of blankets and when i wake up it’s always broken. GOOD LUCK

Try Ecinacea and L-Lysine supplements.  You can get them at Whole Foods.  I take them when I get sick and they speed up my healing!

Sleep and water? That’s tough, so close to the wedding. Hopefully you can just stay home and rest!

Can you get to the doctor?  If you can take Tylenol, take it to keep your fever down. Hang in there, kiddo!

If you are not responding to Ibuprofen, try tylenol. Both are fever reducers. Also (and it will suck and feel colder than it is) try laying in a luke warm bath to help break your fever.  This can help bring your internal temperature down.

As for the throat try some medicated losenges.

Overall chicken broth is good and better than tea because its not only warm like tea, but provides nutrients that can help you fight whatever it is you have.

@TealChocolate: L-Lysine helps my cold sores go away faster too (or prevents when I take it when I feel one coming on), but it’s an overall immune booster so helps with any sickness (viral or bacterial).

Ugh I’ve got it too. Along with my girls and my Fiance, and pretty much my entire family. Lame. I’ve been trying to sleep, using a Vicks waterless steam thing, and vicks Baby rub on my chest and in the shower. Yech.

Take a cool shower to get the fever under control.

Go buy some Emergen-C for your immune system (http://www.amazon.com/Emergen-C-Vitamin-Fizzy-Orange-Packets/dp/B0009RF8LA)

And get some Cepacol Throat Spray, it’s the absolute best in the business for a sore throat.

Target will probably have both of those things.

I would also probably get some theraflu tea mix for that morning. There is some uber powerful medicine in there that will get you feeling warmed up 🙂

Definitely go to the doctor if you can – if it’s an infection (usually when my throat hurts, it is!), all you need is antibiotics to start feeling better asap.

Tylenol is better than advil for both the fever and sore throat.

Try gargling with warm salt water too.

Feel Better!!
