@kelly105: When I started my 2nd tri, I also got a stuffy nose. Not a full-blown cold, but your hormones continue to shift and you also have an increased blood volume- both of which can irritate mucous membranes like the lining in your nasal passages. Still, check with your doctor to be safe, and I hope you feel better soon!

@kelly105: I was at an ENT not too long ago. One side of my nose was so chronically damaged, he couldn’t do the proper exam on that side. I had been using OTC nasal lubricant, but he told me to use seasame oil on a cottonball (no Q-tips). It’s helped so much!
I’ve never been pregnant, but if seasame oil isn’t on a list of foods to avoid I don’t see how putting it in your nose could hurt.

Call your OB. He/She should’ve given you a reference list of medicines you could take without asking and medicines you could take but they would want you to call and get clearance first.

I have been suffering through tthe same thing. I’ve taken tylenol and benadryl, also been using the saline nose spray. (Make sure it is plain saline, not the medicated stuff.) The benadryl helps me get a decent nights sleep.
