emilyofnewmoon :  it’s just astonishing to see people actually *happy* with this person as our leader. if it weren’t so damn damaging to society, it’d be hilarious.

sunburn :

the ideals of the US at founding were predicated on a very limited presidency.

trump is the symptom, not the cause, of a disengaged and ill-informed electorate

this crisis (especially the CARES Act dealings) has shown that real power resides with congress and the States

so the cure is to focus on improving quality

– of policy at a local lebel

– of focus on candidates for the house and senate

and the way to do that is to find a way to match the voting power that the Christian churches provide to extreme republicans. It’s the oldest tactic in political history: God is on the side of Republicans

until that force is neutered or overcome, there is no path to policy implementation for any other views

Hate breeds hate. I don’t identify with Democrats or Republicans, and see a lot of evil on both sides.  I do truly hope one day we have a leader who can bring us together instead of deepening the divide.  No matter your political affiliation, grouping people together in hatred makes you no better than a run of the mill racist/bigot.
