Okay standard disclaimer that I’m not engaged yet, but we were looking for a tux shirt for him today and there were tons of couples picking tux options for their groomsmen today and Boyfriend or Best Friend and I started talking about bridal parties. So I’ve not really started “planning” — waiting until I get that ring on my finger — but I have known since, oh, college who I wanted standing next to me when I get married — in essence, my female best friend as my matron of honor, my male best friend as my man of honor, 2 other close girl friends from college and then my brother and sister in law (after being a bridesmaid in my brother’s wedding I found it weird standing on my SIL side instead of my bro’s with my parents, so I think they should be on my side and BF’s sister and Brother-In-Law should be on his). Anyways, the discussion led to this: Boyfriend or Best Friend doesn’t want any groomsmen. He’s okay with having his sister and Brother-In-Law, but basically doesn’t want anyone else. “I already feel bad for making people come to a wedding, let alone rent a tux.”
So, keeping in mind that I don’t want to break that “not engaged” planning line, this is driving me crazy. Is it going to look like he has no friends if I have 4 friends plus my bro and sister in law and he only has his sister and BIL?
I can’t imagine getting ready for my wedding without my best friends (the 4 people I want as my attendants) let alone all the other planning and things. I loved being the Maid/Matron of Honor in my best friend’s wedding and I can’t wait for her to be mine.
So, what would you do Bees?
