I LOVE my e-ring – it’s my dream ring and was custom done by Jared. Then they mis-polished or something (not sure full story since it doesn’t jive) and one of the edges was no longer completely round so we made them redo the ring.
They rushed it even though we told them emphatically to make sure they got it right – then they call us to come pick it up and the new ring was even worse – my perfect circle looked more like a football and the diamonds in the halo were not evenly spaced or pronged and the diameter was off by a 1/2 milimeter from one side to the other. What really pissed me off is they only back-pedalled when we balked because they had been trying to say because it is cutom it would have irregularities – uh, no, you got it exactly right the first time!
So then they blamed rushing, sigh, didn’t we specify DO NOT RUSH??? But now they are keeping the shank and just remaking the head. And today they called to say the new wax was in but then called back to say no it was wrong.
I don’t trust them at all, they’ve made this such a negative experience and I just want out and to go with someone else – I have quotes from David Klass and a local family owned shop that I got great vibes from. We already know we’ll be waiting at least a month regardless so I just want to go all new (Same design but new source) but of course we financed through them and because it is custom they said they’ll compensate us in some way but we can’t return it. Since they have it and it isn’t right yet I would think we have some recourse even if we walked away from what we’ve paid so far but I have no idea, I’m just frustrated.
I’ve learned so much from everyone here and wish I had found you all sooner because I would have started with a different source in the first place! I had great experiences with my local Jared before but now I’m just so gun shy!

sorry you are dealing with this 🙁 I have had horrible luck with chain jewelry stores….they will bend over backwards to get the sale, then after if you need anything they are like “whatever”. Now, I’m not speaking for all of them, but the one I dealt with, that’s what happened….it was a nightmare.
I hope your ending turns out well!!! Vent away….I did too when I was going through my issue.

@thirdtimeisthecharm: Argh, so sorry. I think you should try to get your money back if at all possible. You have (understandably) lost your faith in them. They should understand that even if they don’t like it. I would contact whomever I needed to at corporate as well to ensure that you do not lose any money in the deal too.

Thank you all! Yep, that’s just what they did too – great during the sale and then forget it afterwards. My Darling Husband said it was amazing how the demeanor of everyone changed to work with after the sale!
We went to look at the wax today for the replacement head and it was close but we knew it wasn’t right which they had even said before we came to look at it (I wanted to see it anyway because it helps me visualize what any adjustments may need to be) but then I swear he was trying to sell me on keeping it like they had it – I pointed out that they got it perfect the first time and the repair guy kept stressing how hard it had been to do it right – and I said I know it can be done so I’m not accepting less!
We figure if we keep documenting everything they’ll have to let us walk away if they don’t give us confidence soon. I’m waiting until I see the next wax before pursuing cancelling everything. But I’m already willing to walk away – it was hard tonight seeing my botched ring that my heart still melted over seeing, I just want it back on my finger!

Good news, Jared has granted us a return! We will head over there today to get my stone back since they’ve had the ring all this time and make sure they’ve not pullig anything over with all the paperwork but I’m so relieved that is at least closed! I’m really bummed I won’t ever have that ring again but I’m trying really hard to be positive and look at the new ring being created as a different new beginning! Darling Husband said he’s definitely making sure we head back to our wedding venue and get new photos – beach/brewery, who I am to complain?? 🙂
