I’m looking for some honest opinions. I went to my alterationist today; she took my dress down a size (yay!) but idk for some reason I’m just not feeling my dress right now. I felt fine in it, but my boobs (large) need to be pushed down in order to not create too much clevage. Basically, because they are large, they won’t fit entirely in the original area made for the chest. I can fit them in the “proper” place, but then the dress starts out a lot lower, which isn’t ideal.
Ignore the necklace…not going to use it, but can anyone give me their honest opinion on how it looks? Maybe it’s that the before the alterations it seems like I have more curves because it is bigger? I don’t know…maybe it’s the sash?
The first photo is after alterations.
The second photo is before alterations.

The belt doesn’t go, it’s more of a yellow-ish pinkish ivory, I’d look for a Swarovski appliqué on an ivory ribbon. Can she make the bodice more of asweetheart shape?

@baracuda: I think you look beautiful. The dress looks fine to me. I’m not mad on the pink sash, but the dress is lovely.

@baracuda: I’d change from a necklace to some drop earrings and the belt can be changed to a ribbon of some sort(I love blush…but you don’t have to do that colour). Overall your dress is gorgeous, and you are gorgeous and I would let that shine.

I think the sash before was up higher? If that makes sense, and maybe not that sash you’re wearing in the alteration picture. Other than that I think it looks great!

I say no necklace or a tiny diamond solitare necklace. Your neck as bare as possible because It makes the eye go towards the beautiful dress and not at the huge necklace. The belt look a lil purple? I would go with a less “blingy” belt, or none at all. I think the dress is gorgeous and fits your shape well!

@baracuda: I agree with PP as your dress has more of a cooler silvery tone and the belt is a little more on the warmer side. I would say a more silvery toned below would work best. I know you said you weren’t wearing that necklace but I say skip one all together and do earrings and a bracelet. I think the overall dress looks beautiful on you…..just switch up the accessories and you are set!!

@baracuda: That is SO pretty on you! I love the first pic of your hair up. I’m not too crazy about the necklace and the sash.

Thanks for some quick replies. I welcome reading more of these comments! So, is this a sash issue? Can someone give me a suggestion about what sash might look better?
atlbride2013 What is a Swarovski appliqué ?
Thank goodness this board exists!

I would go with a silvery belt instead, like a Swarovski type… skip any sort of necklace but do a great statement earring, bracelet, and a dramatic veil.

@baracuda: That dress is beautiful, and so are you! And you look gorgeous in it. I agree with what PPs have said about the sash/belt in the “after” picture. I much prefer the one in the “before” picture. I also noticed someone mentioned possibly altering the top into a sweetheart sort of neckline. If that’s do-able, I think it would be stunning.

You look beautiful! Hard to see color of sash clearly on my phone, but dress is beautiful On you!

Actually, in the second photo (before alterations) I did not have a sash on! It’s just how much the dress indents without alterations!

beautiful girl and beautiful dress!! I have to say though that I do agree with some other posters about the belt in the after picture….maybe try it without or a different one? I think it makes it look like your waist isn’t defined….if that makes sense??? I think the chest portion looks good in the after picture also…very tasteful!

I’m not a fan of that belt on your dress, but you look great!
