I think I’d just have the DJ make an announcement on that one.

I’m curious as to why you’re closing the bar at all – if I had to sit through dances and speeches for an hour I’d definitely need a cocktail.

We closed the bar for an hour during our entrance/first dances and never put a sign anywhere. I think the DJ making an announcement and having a bar tender saying “sorry, the bar is closed until …” is fine.

Is 6-7 when dinner is being served?  It would make more sense to me to have the bar closed during dinner – that’s pretty common.

I don’t know how to make a cute or witty sign saying you can’t get a drink.

@Mederyck:  OP hasn’t posted on the boards in over 10 months, she isn’t around anymore.

@BetterSherm:  this was our sign. At the bottom it says, “Open bar courtesy of David and Tess until 11:30 PM. Cash bar available 11:30 until closing.”  Perhaps something like that?
