We had our signature cocktail served only during cocktail hour. We only served wine and beer during dinner then we had an open bar

Our wedding colors are peach, champagne, and navy. Also, we’re having a brunch wedding, so I am planning to offer Bellinis garnished with blueberry during the meal.

After that, we’ll have an open bar for 3-4 hours

Not everybody likes champagne, so I wouldn’t want to restrict people to just that option. I think most people are content with just beer and wine though, so I think one cocktail and beer and wine make a fine range of choices for people.

If you’re going to choose a cocktail, I’d either go with something related to your theme, or a favorite of you and your FH. Otherwise, it seems like one of those things you can skip pretty easily.

We did 2 signatures cocktails (one for each of us) – a Greyhound for me and a Manhattan for him, in addition to beer/wine/champagne. But we bought enough of the top shelf hard alcohol for those types (vodka and bourbon) to allow people to make other drinks too. I knew most of my girlfriends like vodka soda, and some of our uncles like bourbon & coke, etc. That worked out really well for us!
