I love the idea too and did the same thing as you – – Brought it here to the boards Laughing

Thanks to this thread we’re going to have the Sppoky Rum Cooler only we have renamed it. It has lime juice, pomegranate juice, light rum, dark rum, and simple syrup.  MMMMMM

@Lolasmomma: Holy crap, that sounds so good!

We originally were going to do a “Blue Orchid” which consists of: vanilla vodka, Hpnotiq & orange juice. It was SO yummy, but we ultimately decided the Hpnotiq was going to be too expensive.

We are renting machines from The Margarita Man & are having strawberry margaritas & lemondrops.

@CaraMia10: that is SO COOL that you’re renting Margarita machines, I never thought of that – I don’t mean for me personally but in general that is just the best sounding idea to me Laughing You’re guests are gona love it!

Ours was 2 parts gin, 1 part St. Germain elderflower liqueur, 1 part lemon, 0.5 part simple syrup, muddled with fresh basil, strained into martini-type glasses (we used champagne saucers, it looked very Mad Men) and topped with club soda.  We called it the “Elderflower Basil Smash.”  Our guests loved it!

I am struggling with this as well. Want a good winter cocktail. Thoughts?

Winter cocktail- something with peppermint schnapps?

We also did a coffee bar after dinner and had baileys and kahlua. It might be a good option for winter but of corse you would want other drinks too! or you could throw in egg nog (but very rich)

We are doing coconut mojito’s. Our wedding is in January, but in Miami so it will technically be winter without really being “winter”, lol. We just decided to do something that we both love… Mr.G-McD loves mojito’s and I love coconut. Perfect blend!
