So, I want to have two signature cocktails at my reception, and I’m pretty sure that I want one of them to be Mai Tais! (Or, “Mai Tai the Knots” as I plan to call them!) Anyway, I really want the other one to contrast this one, so if Mai Tais aren’t their thing, the guests have another option.
Any ideas on a good cocktail?

What about something w/ vodka? Lemon Drop or Blue Hawaiian?

Can’t go wrong with Cosmopolitans! 🙂 Or screwdrivers. Any basic mixed drink that guests would be familiar with is a safe bet.

What do your guests drink? You won’t be able to please everyone but you should be able to please most.
Blue Hawaiians are generally good and most people like those. There aren’t many single drinks that the majority will agree on, which is why a variety of options is served. Also, you have to account for anyone who does not drink alcohol.

I personally think you cant go wrong with sangria 🙂 Even friends I know who dont drink LOVED a white peach sangria I made once. Search for it on AllRecipes if you’re curious!

My friend introduced me to something years ago that Im in love with. Think of a jagerbomb. But fill the glass with sprite. Then fill the shot glass with about 1/2-3/4 Southern Comfort, the rest Amaretto and a splash of grenadine. Its called a blood clot. Though most people at the bar are clueless as to how to make one.
They are sweet but not too sweet and not strong tasting but do kick you on your butt after a few. So for my reception I was thinking of just having the shot mixed into the glass bc then it looks pink. And my theme is Cherry Blossoms, so we are going to call it a Cherry Blossom, lol.

We are having margaritas because that is our favorite. To put a twist on them our colors are blue and green so we will be having blue and green margaritas and my mom and I are making little kabobs of limes and blueberrys to put in the drinks to dress them up a bit.
A good way to dress a cocktail is a fruit kabob or anything floating in the drink, it gives the drink a prettier look and a more fun feel.

We’re having a subtle literary themed wedding. I so badly wanted to have a dark & stormy (dark rum & ginger beer) and called it “Capt. Ahab’s Brew.”

such cute ideas! We are doing a Pomegranate Margarita, because we loooove margaritas and tequila in general. I am also Mexican and we are having a mariachi band during cocktail hour! Calling it the “Romance Rita” because that will be my last name.
