I would like to do some signature drinks.
Our colors are Tiffany Blue, Blush Pink, and Chocolate. It’s a summer wedding and we hired a Caribbean steel drum band for cocktail hour so I want light summery drinks.
I was thinking Mojitos and a Bomb Pop:
2 oz Bacardi Razz
2 oz Blue Curacao
2 oz Lemonade
Drizzle grenadine down the side of the glass so that it settles in the bottom. Makes a beautiful red and blue drink.
But I don’t know if I should have two drinks with Rum. Should I add a third with Vodka. It is open bar besides the signature drinks, so how many should I have?

I would put out maybe 10-20 drinks to begin with just to get that look. Then I would just have a little sign that says your signature drink so that people can order it if they want to. I think rum drinks (and no vodka drinks) are fine because you are still having an open bar so if someone prefers vodka they can always just not have one of your drinks!

@clarebee- They will be getting passed at cocktail hour. So should I put a sign for like 10 drinks at the bar and just have those two passed?

I’d add another drink with vodka if you can. I have a couple of friends that don’t like rum, I’m sure you have a couple people on your list too. Vodka is versatile too so it won’t be hard to come up with something. There’s a pretty pink drink I used to make when I was a bartender. It was vodka, peach schnapps (optional), pineapple juice and grenadine. You can also add a splash of champagne to it. Its so good, I always ‘accidentally’ made extra. If you want more ideas let me know!

We had a martini bar with location themed martini’s. Since Darling Husband is from Michigan, there was a Michigan Cherry Tini, since we live in NYC a big apple-tini and we did something for PA too chich I forget. We also added our favorite drink in the whole world which is a vodka saketini with cucumber garnish. That one was a huge hit, people raved about it! I think it’s because it’s super easy to drink, not sweet and clear.

@jennifer- Is that drink a sex on the beach without OJ? Sounds good though.
@moderndaisy- That sounds delicious! Glad it was hit.

I’m also having an open bar but only passing one signature drink. I figure with the open bar people can order whatever they like.

We’re having 2 signature drinks (but still having an open bar) one called the Mr. and one called the Mrs. “Mine” will be a spin off a gin ricky (because anyone who knows me knows I’m a gin girl) and “FI’s” is actually more of a joke then anything…it’s just scotch on the rocks (because once again, anyone who knows him knows he loves his scotch).

oh and there’s a glass of champagne or wine with the buffet for everyone who is 16 or older (which is legal in the UK -so don’t shout at me – and be all “that’s illegal”) – juice and a limited supply of cans of strongbow cider (reminiscent of my youth) are available throughout the night. And then a open bar of course!

Just want to give you a heads up.
We did three signature drinks.. people loved them.. I saw the different colors floating around the room all night.. however.. one didn’t turn out so well.
They served our drinks in high ball glasses, and we had made them in something bigger.. so the one that was supposed to be filled with lemonade, didn’t get enough lemonade & didn’t taste right.
Anyways.. we had an open bar, so if I did it over again, I probably would have focused on just one signature drink. If you signature drinks are you only form of alcohol, or are added to a beer & wine only, I’d do at least 2 or 3. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for everyone’s advice and the drinks sound delicious! I could really use one right now.
