no special meaning and not really any significance but we did have a reason for picking our wedding date – we got engaed in july of last year and his sister was getting married in august so we put off planning until after her wedding. When the time came to finally pick a date we found out my brother was being deployed to afghanistan – well in typical marine corps fashion they couldnt give him a specific date – first it was november 2010 meaning he wouldnt be home untl june 2011 – then we were told January and finally he got confirmation he would be leaving, Late February/ Early March 2011. it was really important to me to make sure my brother would be there, he is only 10.5 months younger than me and we were super close growing up. When he was really sure that this was the time frame we had to make a decision – pick the farthest date away but still ensure he was in the states or wait until fall of next year when he gets back – we werent willing to wait so we set the date and had just about 5 months to plan. i was really turned off about having my wedding during valetines weekend – it just seemed so cliche – but honeymooning on valetines day was a blast!

Not at all. Our photographer only had that date open (or the weekend afterwards), and it all worked out with our venue! 🙂

It’s Veteran’s Day so he’ll have a four day weekend and be able to get a pass, he’ll finally be home from his deployment, and it happens to be the day after our dating anniversary, so I guess it could be significant..

I remember lying on my bed at my parents’ home and woke up saying, “that would be cool to marry Mr. C in September 10. Since I knew most of my family was hundreds/thousands of miles away I knew it had to be a weekend wedding. I never picked that date, it literally came in a dream.

He propsed two weeks to the day after the dream. Like @Cupcake1382, my date twin to the max, we are getting married at 12:13, so it would be in order 9/10/11 at 12:13 pm.

Yes- my Fiance favorite number is 8 and so I think it would help him remember our anniversaries LOL.

11 is my lucky number as well as my sports numbers that I always had when I played sports. On top of that Fiance and I wanted a Friday wedding, and couldnt beat 11-11-11 wont happen again in our lifetime 🙂 Not to mention its vetrans day so I wont have to request off work, and all my girlfriends from work will also be able to make it!

There was no special reason we picked it. I knew I wanted a fallish wedding (I have always been adament that I don’t want to be a sweaty bride!), and when we went to our venue this was one of the only Saturdays they had open – we were planning in under a year.

But after we picked the date my mom told me that was the date of her and my dad’s first date, 45 years before.  🙂

Ours is the birthday of the GDR (East Germany), which is appropriate because Fiance and I have been living in eastern Germany for the last three years. We didn’t specifically plan it to fall on that date, but it’s a nice tribute (especially since we’ll be leaving Germany next month.)

Our first date was April Fool’s Day, and we got engaged on Valentine’s Day, so the “holiday” theme is starting to become our tradition!

Well my Fiance insisted that we get married in an even year, month and the day also had to be even. Right around when we were picking our date Prince William and Kate announced that their date was April 29, 2011. I am a HUGE fan of the royal family, Prince William and I share a bday – June 21, 1982. So I thought it was only right that we also share our anniversary weekend. That is how we (I) settled on April 28, 2012.

It’s a time of the year when we can celebrate our anniversary without FH having to be working. I wouldn’t have minded having a spring/summer/fall wedding, but that would mean either not celebrating the anniv. at all or having to while on the field… Plus setting a date would have been hell and FH would have been worrying the whole time if he should be working.
