playdohpants:  I also chalk it up to the hostesses and mods taking time away from the site because there is next to nothing they can do until all the “bugs” are fixed.

I still hate the re-vamp. I was giving it some thought, and I have never had to deal with such a bad redesign to a site that I frequent. I’ve gone through redesigns, and it’s always taken me like 3 days to adjust. It’s not that I simply hate change, this new redesign is horrible and has some serious functionality issues. It’s been over 2 weeks and I still don’t like it. It’s still useless. I’m on here a lot less.. which is probably a good thing.

blushbliss:  I have noticed a decline in the last six months on here. Unfortunately, I think the new update made it worse. It’s a shame because I use to come on here to look at recaps and join a conversation or two on the boards. Now there are not many recaps to look at or conversations to join.:-( I hope things get straightened out soon on here.

I wish they would just throw in the towel and bring back the old format. We would all be so happy!

there are a few posts like this expressing discontent and concerns but never any comments from the powers that be.  I could actually live with the new white site and different font if it wasn’t for all the problems ie how loooonnnngggg it takes to load ALL the time and the way so many useful features have gone.  For instance the outline around an OP each time was introduced quite recently with it being heralded as a great and innovative idea so why has it now gone?  And most basic of all we NEED to know wedding date and location if each bee to be able to validly answer their questions! and I agree with so many about losing the ability to move to the end page of a long post.  Frustrated!!!!

I know exactly why my participation has severely declined. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. There are so few threads visible on the front page of the board. On a 14 inch laptop, I can only see 4 threads at any one time. It used to be dozens. I can’t scan the threads without having to scroll and load, which takes forever. It’s painful. It just becomes an exercise in frustration and I leave. I used to come through here everyday. But this is the first time in a week that I’ve taken the time to look past the first few threads and actually read one. I’m sorry, but the new design just won’t work as well as the old one unless you’re using a 56 inch flatscreen, or willing to scroll through 3 or 4 threads at a time. Can you imagine if you could only see 4 headers at once in your email inbox? You can be sure that you’d probably never read most of those emails.

I have it open just as much as I did before but I am looking at it and posting a LOT less! I hate how there are fewer threads per page and a lot fewer posts per page. Navigation needs to be fixed, hopefully soon!

I find the site a bit hard to navigate but I don’t mind.   I am sure it will work out it’s kinks.

My participation had been decreasing before the redesign due to a couple different factors, one of them being that I got laid off from my job which had long periods of waiting time that I killed on the Bee. Since the redesign I’ve found the Bee so clunky to use and so much less active that I don’t think I’ve posted more than a handful of times in the last few weeks. I’m starting my new job soon which will be a true benchtop job (no computers) and combined with the lack of progress on the feedback we’ve provided I would not be surprised if my posting becomes a once in a blue moon thing or ceases altogether. I find it really disappointing because there was a really great community on here that is unraveling now.

For me, its the topic previews that make it impossible for me to use the site. On my small computer, I only see like… 6 topics at once. It makes it IMPOSSIBLE to scan the boards for topics of interest. It takes an inordinant amout of work to just click on and scan the boards for a while.

Every time I comment on the suggestions thread about this problem, it gets ignored. I would love to have the text preview optional (like the thankfully short lived and equally horrific photo preview) but the powers that be seem to be COMPLETELY ignoring this issue.

I wish they’d waited till I was done with my wedding to completely make things unusable.

nightborn:  YES!!!! I freakin’ HATE that!!!! The filter covers up 2-3 posts, and it won’t go back up, so I can’t even read the most recent post! It’s super annoying! This site is NOT better than before. It’s definitely worse. I don’t know what they were thinking.

    julies1949:   I agree.

So far none of the really great features of the old site have been given back to us, I don’t need to list them again, we all know what they were.  My participation has declined because I don’t find the new site to be as user friendly.  I miss the old features.  Honestly, I don’t see anything at all better about this update.  It reminds me, for example, of how each time Outlook is updated I despise it more and more, lol.

I’m tired of my posts being filled with code. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I have noticed a few other posts with the same issue. All your posts on here though don’t seem to have it. What am I doing differently to you other bees?<br /><br />The old site I never had a problem. this site; I can’t seem to be able to put spaces between lines to make it more reader friendly.<br /><br />I like some of the updates, But I would take the old bee back over a helpful button anyday.<br />this code <br /><br /> is what I mean. does anyone know how to get rid of it?<br />The whole double avatar thing to when you edit is unnecessary too.

I feel like people just need to give it more of a chance. It’s still the same site, that hasn’t changed.
