@armychica06: I have had a lot of interviews where I thought it went badly and I still got the job offer.  I think it’s easy to psych yourself out when you can do nothing but wait to hear back!  The only sure good sign is if they contact you.

I interview people a lot. When I really like someone I will always ask when they are available to start. I usually start to get excited during an interview and that’s me thinking “finally, someone that’s not insane! Woo, this might actually work!” i feel like that shows through a little because i probably start to smile more. Also, the interview definitely goes longer when I like the person and I ask for references.

@Amy43026: I just wanted you to know how much your post meant to me! I just got an offer on a job I really, REALLY wanted and one of the things they asked me at the end of the interview was when I was available. When I read your post, I was still waiting for the offer and seeing your response really gave me a boost. Thank you so much!

When I was interviewing for my current job, the interviewer (now my boss) mentioned that she was in the process of calling my references. Good sign!
