    @swimcat14:  I think that the DJ should say it, but if he does, you might run into people during the ceremony that forget to do it. is there a reason why you prefer to not have your officiant say something before the ceremony?

    @swimcat14:  maybe a groomsman can step up before all you ladies come out and politely ask? I would just hate to have someone’s phone go off!

    If not…I would put it on the back of the program. There are some cute ideas on Pinterest. I just searched “turn off your cell phone” in the search box on the main page and many ideas popped up!

    I would put it in the program and maybe put a sign by the guest book or gift table, wherever guests will pause before finding their seats.

    We plan to make a sign for people to see as they’re walking in. Not everybody will read the program. Some people may be a little late and not hear the DJ while other’s might get annoyed hearing the DJ repeat himself 🙂

    When I do church group with teens I tell them to a take out their cell phones and waive with them ” for the lights” and then once they all have their phones are out I say ” lets all put them In silent mode” they live it and works like a charm

    I didn’t even think about this as an issue. It never occured to me that someone would actually leave their phone on during a wedding. I would just automatically put mine on silent (I can’t turn it right off).
