i just want ring repellant, might not stop a guy 100 percent of the time from asking but the majority will get the hint. im also looking forward to being taken more seriously once i have the ring. no matter how many years we’ve been together my family still treats us as if we’re just ‘dating’ casually. *eye roll*

I want the sparkly ๐Ÿ™‚ I also want to not be the “gf”. And I want his family to take me seriously. Also maybe a little less silly, We are living together, so to me it feels better.

My silly reason: because “boyfriend” started sounding like “blarphfiend” about 2 years ago.

And because it’s sounded like this for so long, I’m afraid “fiancé” might morph to “fartface” if that stage lasts too long.

*sigh* can you tell I grew up with brothers….no sis’ ๐Ÿ™

@AzFlower:LOL! I freaking love that XD

My silly reason:

We were watching the Walking Dead last night and I told SO I’d be really pissed off if we weren’t engaged before the zombie apocolypse.

My silly reasons…I hate the GF/BF titles. I am 32, not 23. Fiance isnt fantastic either, but better than GF/BF partner.  I used partner breifly, until someone thought I was gay because of it (eyeroll).

I am tired of the instant judgement when I take FI’s son somewhere without him.  No ring on the finger and a child makes me a slut?  He’s not even mine!  I had one woman who had the audacity to actually ask me if I knew the father!  W.T.F.

I would like my parents and family to know I am not the silly little girl I once was and can have an adult relationship, and a good one at that.

I want to be part of the adult world, people just look at you different when you have that ring on your finger, like you’re a reliable/responsible person or are more valuble to them becasue someone wants you enough to buy a ring.

I want people to stop asking me at every function when I am going to get married.  I am tired of smiling and putting on a happy face when asked “so when are you going to get married”, “you’re not married?  How old are you?” and my favourite “your clock is ticking, better get at it if you want kids”.  Seriously, just f**k off!

Mine is I want to buy a Maggie Sottero destination wedding dress. I love flowy dresses and that’ll be the only time I get to wear a Maggie (unless I’m a bridesmaid and then it won’t be my style.lol)

@Mrs.SleepyKitty:  The Walking Dead is my FAVORITE show!

Ahhhh….. I agree with so many of you!

I am (gulp!) 35 and my BF will be 35 next month.  We have been together for 10 years now!  We have lived together for 8years and have owned a house together for almost 3 years.  Its TIME!!!!   We are FAR TOO OLD to be calling each other “Boyfriend” and “Girlfriend!!”  I can’t stand it!!!

I also can’t stand the pressure/comments from just about everyone in our lives!!!  Even people who barely know me will make a comment like “what, no ring?” when I tell them that we’ve been in a relationship for 10 years…… UGH!   Its annoying!!!

Also, I’ve put in my time and have been MORE THAN PATIENT and I deserve something nice and sparkly to look at!

Supposedly its coming soon……. so we’ll see!

My silliest, pettiest reasons:  I’ve spent the past year and a half being maid of honor to my bff who has talked about NOTHING but her wedding since she got engaged and I want a little of that to come my way!

Also because my big sister is throwing the “e” word around her bf (that she started dating almost exactly the same time I started dating my SO) and dammit I want to be first!!!

Also, I should add that after being a bridesmaid/MOH 10 times now, and not to mention the countless other weddings that I have attended as a guest……. and after doting over everyone else, I would like a little love and attention to come my way too! ๐Ÿ™‚

And… having my younger brother get married before me and my younger sister is next!   When is it gonna be my turn?!  ๐Ÿ˜‰

Every time I think about saying the “fiance” word, I think about that episode of Seinfeld where the woman keeps saying things like “where has my fiance gone? I just have to find my fiance! Has anyone seen my fiance!?” … Anyone know what I’m talking about? It’s also the one where Elaine tells the same woman “Maybe the dingo ate your baby!”….

Classic.

I agree with edub!!! I wanna go public with mine too and not look weird! I hate it that all these girls who aren’t even dating have a wedding board called “One day. I hope.”!!! Also..I just wanna start planning all together! (Even though I’ve already started doing some of it…I don’t wanna look like a total weirdo or pushy g/f…Plus he knows I’m planning and hes okay with it! Just give me my damn ring already! lol)
