CaitlinAwesome:  Lol, he sleeps pretty fine and falls asleep extremely easily. I have sleep issues so I’m actually a little jealous.

It’s not really a dolphin call. It’s an exaggeration on how it feels to wake up to lol. It’s just moaning but at a weird pitch sometimes.

My fiance has conversations in his aleep. One time I asked him who I was and he said “the weirdo from the island.” Another time he had been looking for a job and was dreaming about a job interview. I heard in a very serious tone “Does your significant other make you happy?”

Sometimes he kisses me in his aleep too. The other night, he started kissing me in his sleep, and I was inv the middle of dreaming about being in a counseling session (I work as a therapist.) I was so confused because I knew I wasn’t supposed to be kissing a client!

soymilk:  what do you mean by sleeping fine? And if anything, wouldn’t falling asleep easy be a sign that he isn’t getting enough sleep? And yeah, weird pitched moaning isn’t sounding any better. That’s what my Fiance used to do. Half snore half moan, then silence, then sometimes he would actually not breathe for a few seconds, then he’d take one big breath again and start with the half moaning thing. When he got checked out they were basically like “holy shit” and couldn’t believe he was that bad and had no idea.

CaitlinAwesome:  He sleeps fully, he doesn’t stop breathing, and he wakes rested. He has no issues with his sleep to make him want to consult a doctor. I’m not going to force him to consult one if he personally is happy with his sleep. As I said, this does not happen often. He doesn’t snore or flail. I wake him up to tell him he is moaning and he goes right back to sleep normally for the rest of the night.

Every individual is different. If I’ve learned anything from suffering from chronic insomnia, it’s that no sleep issues are exactly the same for every person. If it was an often thing or bothering him then that would be reason to pursue a sleep study. Falling asleep easily (which I’m saying easily compared to how hard it is for me to fall asleep) is not an indicator of lack of sleep necessarily.

My DH talks in his sleep a LOT! I’m a really light sleeper who has a hard time falling back asleep after being woken up, so it’s not ideal, but sometimes it makes me bust  a gut!

1) “Don’t be such a bologna picker”

2) *He turns on the bedside lamp and just half-sits up, then doesn’t move for a full minute*

Me: whatcha doing?

*he turns the light off*

Me: why’d you turn the light on?

Him: I turned it OFF! GOD! Why are being so mean?!

3) him: “Move, I need to get it.”

Me: “get what?”

Him: “the plate!! It has stuff on it!”  (No plate in the room)

I feel pretty sure that he gets all his anger and frustration out during sleep, because in the daytime he’s nothing but an easygoing goofball! But he’s always angry/frustrated/impatient in his sleep, haha

My current BF doesn’t say much in his sleep, but my ex-BF used to say hilarious things. My ultimate favorite was: “You have to pay the fare to ride the goose.”

My fiancé talks and does things in his sleep all the time! I think my favorite was when he ripped the comforter off of me in the middle of the night, and when I told him to stop and asked what he was doing, he was so confused. Later, he told me that he had been dreaming that I was sleeping under a big pile of papers and he was clearing off the top layer of paper, but he was going to let me sleep under the rest.

My Fiance is mostly scary in his sleep 😁 I think he might have a little PTSD but he doesn’t think so. But he also never remembers how he acts in his sleep. I woke him up once because he fell asleep on the couch and he grabbed me, then realized it was me, and said “if we were in Iraq I would’ve shot you.” Then he just rolled back over and he still doesn’t remember doing that. Other times he’s just grabbed me, and once he was ready to charge down the hallway out me because he didn’t realize I was getting home earlier that night (back when I worked night shifts) But I turned the light on.

Fiance doesn’t talk in his sleep but I do.

I usually talk about home improvement. Not entirely sure why. The funniest was probably one night Fiance told me he was laying in bed playing video games, he turned to look at me and I was laying there with my eyes wide open smiling at him. He asked me if I was awake or asleep and I kept telling him “i’m not wearing anything underneath!” and pulling up the blankets and giggling. Then I tried to get fresh with him.

You’d have to ask my husband, I’m the one who sleep-talks.  I do ask him what I say and he says most of the time I just mumble and he’s never tried to engage.  Maybe I’ll ask him to engage him next time ….

One time he was about to leave while I was sleeping (I work nights, he works days, and it was one of his days off so I was sleeping in the middle of the afternoon) and he was leaving me a message on the dry erase board and he draws heavy so there was a tap tap tap and I started saying “Come in!  Come in!  Come in!” and then woke up during the last Come In!  Why I was inviting whoever it was into the bedroom before checking who it was, I don’t know!

This is total Too Much Information but to funny not to tell. My Fiance talks dirty to me in his sleep and will start relations without knowing he is doing it. lol First time he did it I had no idea and thought he just woke up ready to go. We had our fun and then after he insisted it was me that started it. He has since done it multiple times and we have started calling it sleep F-ing. Its particularly funny when I’m having trouble sleeping and he starts hum my leg like an out of control puppy.

But hey at least I know he’s super attracted to me even in his sleep.

mrshesstobe:  Your post made me laugh… my husband talks about rhinos in his sleep. No idea why, I don’t think he’s ever said the word while awake.

sparklies:  Aww, that doesn’t sound fun. PM if you want help finding a VA or ptsd treatment center nearby. Even if it’s ‘mild,’ he and you deserve to be free from the effects of everything he went through for the country. I’m thankful to him for his service and you for your support.

I am the sleep talker in this relationship. When I was going through chemotherapy (I’m fine now!) and radiation the medication I was on would make me have extremely vivid dreams. I, apparently, would go on for twenty or thirty minutes at a time having full blown dream conversations with him. He’s even recorded me on film because I didn’t believe I was actually talking in my sleep.

His favorite is what he tells people was “The Walrus Incident”… He filmed it. I made him delete it!

Anyway, by the time he start filming I was already crying my eyes out. He asks me “What’s wrong honey?” and I tell him “It’s just not fair! I don’t get it! They’re made for each other!” and he asks me “Who’s made for each other?” and I say “The Walruses!!!!! They’re perfect!” and can’t control his laughter at this point so I scream at him and say “YOU ARE SO UNREASONABLE!! YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT IT’S LIKE TO BE A WALRUS AND LOVE A MANATEE AND HER FATHER WON’T EVEN BUY HER THE BLUE FLOWER EARRINGS FROM THE GIFT SHOP!”

He lost it at that point and woke me up. I was still crying and I had no idea why. I do love manatees, though. I’ve said a lot of crazy stuff in my sleep. Now that I am off of that medication, I still giggle in my sleep apparently. Sometimes I talk but it’s not as understandable now. I’m sure he’s disappointed I cannot amuse him anymore.

My FH smiles in his sleep sometimes. I think it’s adorable.

My fiance reminded me of another one. I came home late one night and he was already asleep. I startled him when I walked up to the bed, so I reached out to calm him down. He kept swatting my hand away. I tried to tell him who I was, and he said “I know, I know, it’s you times three!” Apparently in his half asleep state, his eyes were playing tricks on him and he saw three of me.
