- Wedding: August 2016 - National Aviary
I went wedding dress shopping for the first time this week and fell in love with the Essense of Australia D1702 (It’s much more soft and romantic in person). I only tried on 2 dresses before finding it! I am very close to ordering it but I want to make sure I have no regrets! I’m not getting married until August 2016 so I have time to do more looking. That being said, can you suggest any similar dresses that I may want to see before I order. I am looking for a sweetheart neckline and romantic, flowy skirt (I love the organza) under $2k. Thanks!

I work in bridal and we carry the Essense of Australia D1702. We just got a new dress from designer Mori Lee which is pretty similar, might be worth checking but in all honesty I prefer the EOA to it but I will let you decide for yourself, the Mori Lee is a little less expensive than the D1702 as a bonus.

Have you seen Wtoo Agatha? http://watters.com/Product/WtooBrides/13704 Their Love Marley Penelope also has a similar look, although it has an illusion neckline: http://watters.com/Product/LoveMarley/53707
Both are around $1000.
And, speaking of Mori Lee, have you stumbled across this one? It’s gorgeous; classic while still very dramatic, the drape is beautiful, it has a really defined/ deep sweetheart neckline, and I got constant feedback from brides that it looked more expensive than it was. I have to agree; the silhouette (if not the details) is very vintage Dior. Especially striking in the caramel/ ivory colorway pictured. I forget the MSRP of this one, but I want to say it was under $1500. http://www.morilee.com/bridals/bridal/2674

The EoA dress reminds me of the Watters Sydney dress. I think it is around $2300 so would have to check out preowned sites.

I second the 2674!! I’m not done dress shopping yet (planning a trip to the Reading Bridal District next month!) but the ML 2674 is definitely my number one right now. The MSRP at the salon I tried it on at is $1480, but RK Bridal and New York Bride have it as $1270…I’m sure that means it’s somewhere between the two prices.

I have tried this one on and the Wtoo Agatha and like the Wtoo a lot more (I’m petite and was drowning in the EoA lol).
There is also this gorg Stella York that is very similar (same company – I think). TheKnot.com says it’s $750-1000 too!
