you should try the Women’s Club of Englewood…great prices, pretty venue.  i’m using the Rutgers Gardens but having second thoughts after seeing WCE…lol.  http://www.wcecarriagehouse.com/  the site fee is like $1200.

Have you heard of the Hermitage? I volunteered to serve at an event there years ago but it was beautifully set up. I’m not sure what the prices would be, it’s in Ho-Ho-Kus right past Ridgewood if you know where that is http://www.thehermitage.org/

Good luck!

I don’t know if you’ve seen this on the boards, and its not exactly modern, but I love my venue – the Smoke Rise Village Inn in Kinnelon (northern) NJ. Its a beautiful restaurant/house in a gated neighborhood, so no one knows about it. You can get packages for about 100pp on a Saturday night, and you get the place for the whole day (even possibly the night before, they don’t book many weddings) They have an indoor and an outdoor ceremony spot, both beautiful!

I was about to say The Hermitage doesn’t do weddings (when I was searching for a venue, that’s what their site said), but it seems they recently hired an exclusive caterer to handle larger events.

Bretton Woods wouldn’t fall under your “modern” criteria, but it’s not a typical banquet hall. Though from what I hear, the decor is dated and the food is mediocre.

@dmp777:

Hello:

I have the perfect wedding location in New Jersey (http://www.hotelsunlimited.com/). It is a chain of hotels and I am having my wedding here as well.  I researched for over a year for the perfect venue and I have truly found it. I know the stress of planning a wedding and being on a tight budget. My guest list is at 150 people and I am paying a little under $10,000 for everything included (food, alcohol, reception, centerpieces, cocktail hour; literally everything) and am MORE THAN WILLING TO HELP ANYONE lessen the stress of finding a venue. You truly get more than you pay for. Please feel free to email me at [email protected] or facebook me or send me a message here. I am truly willing to help and please do not hesitate to contact me. Cool

All the best,

Check out the Grounds For Sculpture located in Hamilton.  Should be right around an hour’s drive from Morristown.  http://www.groundsforsculpture.org/
