    i voted 1:1, this is the simplest version.

    I have’t tried this personally but I know that if you want a richer flavour use raw sugar in a 2:1 sugar ratio and gentle boil it over a stove to dissolve the sugar.

    The easiest way to do it is to heat some water and just keep adding sugar until it doesn’t disolve anymore (that means it’s saturated). It’s pretty tough to mess up.
