Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to get married (outdoors) in Jacksonville, FL. My boyfriend and I are not yet engaged but he wants me to start planning now because he has a specific day in mind which would not give me much time to plan.. ha. We have a ton of family and friends but are trying to spend as little as possible. Luckily, we have family members and friends that are caterers, photographers, musicians, etc. So the biggest issue right now is finding a venue and reception area. I’ve thought about the beach but don’t want everybody’s heels to sink in the sand! Any suggestions? 🙂

A friend of mine got married at Hugenot Park a few years ago. she rented a pavillion and had the wedding on the beach and the reception there too. They rented chairs and had a caterer set up. it was nice and simple.

I am not sure what your style of wedding is going to be but The Castle on the Lake was voted 2011 Best of Weddings by the Knot. Other pretty outdoor wedding venues in the Jacksonville area are:
- In the Garden / Casa Bella Village
- Ribault Club at Fort George Island
- The Timucuan Preserve (also manages Fort Caroline and Kingsley Plantation)
- Casa Marina Hotel
- Balboa Park
- Amelia Island Plantation
- UNF Fine Arts Center (Indoor but cool Modern Design)
I hope some of those help. 🙂

We are getting married in the gardens at the Cummer Museum. By far the most beautiful venue in Jacksonville but very pricey for what you get with it.
