- Wedding: February 2013
Like a lot of you ladies, I wanted to do something special to ask my bridesmaids to be a part of my wedding, especially because we’ve all moved away from each other at this point. I ended up asking all of them before I sent these official “Will you be my bridesmaid” invitations because I didn’t want anyone to feel pressured into something that they couldn’t afford.
Anyway, I printed out my “Will you be my bridesmaid?” cards from Microsoft Word using a calligraphy font from dafont.com and a regular font off of my computer. It’s printed in purple, which is one of our wedding colors. Then, I glued them to the back of some pink cardstock (I actually got these from Target last year when I made my engagement party invitations. The set was $10 for 200 colored cards and included green, yellow, orange, red, pink, blue, white, and purple cards). You can use any cardstock you want, though. Then, I attached some Valentine’s stickers that I got from the Dollar store.
The Mrs. Fields candy was $2.99 (50% off) from Target. (Mrs. Fields has a special place in my heart since that will be my married name). The notebook was $1 from the dollar store. (I wrote a message in each of the notebooks).
I used some ribbon I had lying around to tie everything together. And viola! You’ve got yourself pretty, inexpensive bridesmaids gifts.
If you still wanted to do this, even though Valentine’s day is over, you’d save a lot of money on the discounted candy. You could even include a little note that says, “Be Mine Bridesmaid.”
