Hi All! – I have been hunting a Nicole Miller “Celine” sample for MONTHS. I finally was able to try it on (only second time trying on dresses) and fell in love. I love the fabric (light and breathable), and the shape that it gives me. I am a tall bride and I feel like this dress was made for my height. Unfortunately, my family/friends were not able to go to the appointment with me. From the pictures my family said “something was missing” impling it was too simple. My Friends all said it “looked like me”. My family’s feedback is keeping me from pulling the trigger and purchasing. I would love to get unbiased feedback on the dress below and any simple dress experiences. Also, did anyone have trouble finding BridesMaid dresses that were more “simple” than the Bridal gown?

KEEP IN MIND SAMPLE WAS SIZE TOO SMALL

I love it too. Are you planning on a veil?
I had a ‘plain’ dress. I knew 100% that’s what I wanted. I think the veil made it very bridal and gave it some oomph.

It looks beautiful on you! I love simple dresses. I think with hair, makeup, and jewelry, the look will come together and be so elegant. At most, I would consider getting a thin, sparkly belt sewn onto the front. But I think it looks beautiful as is!
I looked at Nicole Miller dresses too, but eventually settled on the Theia Devon gown…so, very simple! I bought a thin sparkly belt to wear during the reception, and I actually bought an overskirt (Elsa overskirt, also by Theia) to wear during the ceremony. It’s also very simple, but adds a little drama and makes for a slightly more romantic look or the ceremony.

HCBenton17: I think it’s gorgeous! I love the back! I also had a simple gown (Katie May Verona) and I paired it with a cathedral length veil with tiny pearls sewn in, statement earrings and a beautiful haircomb. It’s your wedding and I’ve always been a firm believer in that you should look like yourself on your wedding day, I’m sure all your guests will say “That’s so HCBenton!” on your day just like mine did 🙂

You look stunning and your friends’ comments that the dress is “you” is all I need to hear – I’ve never thought that weddings are a time to change your style and “dress up” as someone else.
As UK Bee said, a veil could make all the difference. I’d be inclined to go chapel or cathedral length with some scattered lace appliqués.
