So I’ve been tossing around the idea of singing a song to my FH at the reception. I used to sing in compeitions in high school, but I stopped senior year singing solo in public all together (long story…) Anyway, he knows that I can sing, but has never heard me in the 4 yrs we’ve been together. My family knows obviously because they attended my shows, but I doubt any of our friends and his family have a clue that I’m capable of it.
I’m a bit nervous of "coming out of retirement" but I think it might add something special.
The last hour of the reception will be karaoke style anyway. The DJ will play songs and specific people will be required to do what they’re best known for (a few of our friends are legends for their renditions of some favorite tunes). Even my FH has a tune he’ll be crooning and dancing too (it’s a sight to behold).
So, I thought during that hour, I could take the mic (much to everyone’s surprise probably) and sing a little something. I can’t do our song because we are dancing to it earlier.
So what song would you pick? Do you have plans to do anything like this? Or if you’re already married – have you perhaps done it?
