I have seen this and it’s absolutely gorgeous. I found the picture below on Google (so I’m sorry if it’s someone from here, let me know if it’s yours).

I think it sounds very sweet… holding a bouquet with both hands as you walk looks awkward to begin (do you ever walk with both hands clasped in front of you?), and having just a single flower might look more natural, and in turn, more elegant.  And callas tend to be so substantial as a flower, so it’s not like they would be walking up with a dandelion, you know?

And, if your Fiance is anything like mine, his mind will quickly change when you tell him how much money you can save by having them hold one flower instead of a whole bouquet!

Just remind your Fiance that he isn’t the one that will have to carry it!

Here are some images I found to help him get the ide:

A friend of mine did this for her wedding.  The bridesmaids carried 1 with a ribbon tied around it, and the maid of honor carried 3 or 4. I would say that the single ones should also have a little greenery or with them because it can look elegant or sparse depending on how its done.

We originally were going to do a single calla lily and when we changed florists, he recommended 3 large calla lilies.  I am going to try to upload a picture.

I really like the look of three together.

@olomanany -I love the looks on your girls’ faces, especially the one who is turned away.  Did she have to sneeze or something?

I would get a lily and try carrying it.  I was at a wedding where they carried simple calla flowers, and they laid them across their arm like carryina  baby doll, but their other arm was hooked to the groomsman who was walking them down the aisle.  If they are walking solo, you might get one to try it out so they arent carrying it like a their big bouquet somehow got lost.

I think that it its all up to you. Me personally would feel awkward walking down with one flower but, that’s just me. I think that if it is what you really want go for it.

Personally, I would try and do three per bouquet but I think it will look great no matter what you end up doing.

It doesn’t sound like you’re considering one for only budget reasons – so I’d vote for doing three.  Of the examples people posted, I think it looks the best.  You still get the simplicity, but there’s something a tad more substantial.

i’m doing 3 large callas and it’s out of preference (and slight cost).  i think a single calla just looks as nice.
