Any ideas on a good and inexpensive flower to use for a single flower (or 2-3 stems) bridesmaid bouquet? My colors are purple, fuschia/pink, gold, ivory. The only flower I’m really not crazy about is the calla lily… The wedding is in August in WI.
Here are a few ideas:

woops …missed the poll…
Peonies are out of season in august so they would be expensive, not sure how much they would be for just a couple.
Between the other two options I like the magnolia

I love love love peonies for wedding bouquets, and the idea of having a single one looks absolutely adorable for the bridesmaids. I want all of my wedding flowers to be white, except for my bouquet in which I want blush colored peonies (and possibly ranunculas and garden roses). I figure since I’ll be wearing white, and all the rest of the flowers will be white, I can get away with whatever I want :-P. I like the magnolia as well. I would just pick whichever looks better with the theme and other wedding flowers/colors.

I voted for the magnolia. But if you are looking for other possibilities, what about hydrangea, gerbera daisy or sunflower?

I’m doing this and going with sunflowers. Also in WI 🙂

I think the peony is very elegant

I think since you are having an August wedding, and gold is in your colours, sunflowers could look really nice.
Otherwise, i like the look of the peonies. and a couple feathers with it would add an interesting touch!

I’d go for the peony. It might be different with flowers from a florist, but I pick magnolias all the time during the summer and take them home and they do NOT hold up well, so that makes me nervous.

I like the peony the best, but that might just be b/c i love peonies in general. I also like the look of a few tulips

I love the single peony, looks amazing!

I like the Peony.Sunflowers would be fun too. You could grow those yourself.

Have you considered garden roses? Peonies aren’t in season in August, but I’m pretty sure you can get garden roses all year round. They look pretty similar and probably won’t cost as much.
