Callalilies are beautiful and I think it can be a great idea. However, my family owned a florist for a while and I seem to remember my mom saying that it’s not the best idea for warm weather because they leak a lot? I’m not sure if other bees can confirm this.

I think a single flower is a great idea if you like it though!

A spray of orchids, especially in NYC, is going to run pretty expensive. Depending on your budget and the size of your bridal party, I would suggest maybe mixing the orchids in with other, in season flowers.

At one of my friend’s weddings, each of the girls in the wedding party carried a single callalily. I think it looked really nice. The wedding was in July or August so it was pretty hot out and the flowers seemed to hold up well.

@speechgal44:  What if you used a different colour of callalily other than white? I had considered using purple ones(like the ones in the pic below) for my wedding. I decided to just stick with artificial flowers in the end though because it’s more affordable (and they won’t die lol)

@speechgal44:  I think you can get different shades of purple so maybe something a bit lighter would show up better. Or if you want to stick to the darker colour, maybe the bridal party could have white ones and you could have a purple. Purple would show up AWESOME against a white wedding dress! =)

My sister had us each carry a single stem or two and then as maid of honor, I went around and collected the single flowers from her bridal party and other important women in the audience and walked back down the aisle. I met her there and made a quick bouquet out of them. It was actually really special moment between my sister and I and it symbolized all the important ladies who helped her get to that piont. And obviously, it was cost effective!
