no no no stop it right now! Shut off the FB. People embellish on there. They are not as happy as you think!! You are engaged!!! That is a huge thing to have happen in a year!

@sherryberry: I can relate. (Although I do think your engagement IS a big deal that you should be excited about!!) That said, I’m still a graduate student (full-time), which means I’m working two jobs (a graduate assistantship, and a minimum wage job as a hostess). It is hard to see other people reaching the milestones that you wish you could be celebrating.

However, there’s a quote that may help: “Life is a journey, not a destination.”

Try not to dwell on what you don’t have – spend new years celebrating what you do! There are many young men and women who would absolutely love to have found their future spouse, or who have but are still waiting for the chance to get engaged.
