EDubbs:  It’s a bit like a bridal shower,  sort of the female equivalent of a stag do – it can be as wild or restrained as required.

EDubbs:  The bachelorette party. In Aust and I think the UK we call it a hen’s do. The hen’s party and the buck’s party.

OP – I’m really sorry that your sister is being such a horrible human right now. Cut her out of any funsure plans (such as the bridal shower) to dave yourself the hurt. If, in a couple of years she regains her humanity, she’ll feel bad about it and you can accept her apology. In the mean time, enjoy that amazing MOH!

Now that I’m hip to the lingo it sounds like she’s a jealous wench don’t let her drama effect your happiness.

MissRustic:  Stop holding your breath waiting for your sister to change. She’s not going to. The only thing that can change is how you respond to her. Stop letting her push your buttons.

When you lower your expectations of her, she will stop disappointing you.

The story makes her sound like such a villain and makes you sound so perfect that I’m suspicious of the dynamics that are REALLY at play here.

MissRustic:  Some sisters are just users. I have one and you do too.

MissRustic:  sorry about the weird typos/autocorrect in my post, I just read it back. Hopefully one day she’ll realise just how much you’ve done for her and have a change in behaviour.

MissRustic:  I didn’t call you a villain…

I’m sure that your sister is very frustrating. I just don’t think your story is honest enough to get real perspective on what’s happening.
