I can see where this would bother you( my ex sister in law set a date the weekend before our wedding after we had everything paid for, she refused to move it) I completely understand. You have a choice to make in how you let it affect you. It can cloud your day or you can make your wedding the most special possible. It is what it is and letting it ruin your excitement over your wedding is only hurting you. Sorry 🙁

Thanks again, everyone. We are still seeing how it is that we can work things out, but it’s good to vent and see everyone’s varying perspectives and experiences with the situation.
@Keisha In Love: WOW…. have your inviations gone out yet? Can you move your date up? I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I would be upset too.
Save-the-dates went out, and invites were printed and ordered, and a lot of people have reserved flights and hotels, so unfortunately, that’s a no-go. Believe me, I’ve asked this about five dozen times since finding out, ha!
In the end, she’s my only sister and she loves her Fiance and I’m happy for her, so we’ll see what all moves on from there, if anything.

I think that is very inconsiderate of her.It is a lot to ask of out of town guests as well.

@seajo Your sister sounds like mine. After I got engaged and picked the date my sister did the same thing as well. When I got engaged the first thing my sister stated was that since she was older, she should be getting married first, no congratulations or anything. I KNOW HOW YOUR FEEL. I really want to push her down the stairs, LOL (not kidding just a little) but I love her and decided that I am going to enjoy this time regardless of what she will say or even do.
