I wouldnt worry about it. Maybe ask her to do a reading at the wedding? Other than that it is probably good she isn’t physically in the wedding so she can help with the kids.

she could be your witness who signs the marriage certificate

Honestly, I really don’t see the problem. If you two aren’t close, why in the world would you ask her to be a BM? You’re just assuming she’s hurt–do you know for sure that she is?

Signing the marriage certificate might be cool! Or asking her to do the guest book and programs?? I’m having an interactive guest book so it will actually be a job for the person I have doing it haha.

We had our sister in law do a reading. What about being a sort of day of assistant. Your right hand gal? Help with the babies, etc.

She might actually be happy not to be a Bridesmaid or Best Man if she just had a baby!

I agree with vorpalette. Your not even sure she is upset. Maybe you could ask your brother?

And if you have more girls then guys – it will be obvious that you had a full plate to start with – I think she would be understanding.

I am not sure I would be upset if my brother got married and I wasn’t asked to stand up for his FI’s side because I know we aren’t close.

I’m with vorpalette too – make sure her feelings are actually hurt before you do anything.  Maybe she in fact would rather attend as a guest – with a new baby maybe all the work and cost involved in being a bridesmaid would be too much for her.
