I’m an to each his own person and I think polygamy can definitley work for some- but until I see families work with multiple male and female parents I’m not a believer. Why can a man have multiple women? I’m not trying to sound like a feminist but until the father on this show (with his crazy eyes) says he’d accept another husband into the family it’s crap to me.

Why is the man allowed 3 wives and they only allowed to share one man? I am not a feminist by normal standards, but until they are allowed to have the same number of spouses, it is demeaning and disturbing to the value of women in my opinion, and no happy appearance on a tv show will change my mind on that. I think its disgusting. Its been a long day, so I have no filter, excuse my lack of tact for the day 🙂

@maureen9004: @sweetpea1031: if you believe in general equality for all women then you are a feminist, you don’t have to be a crazy bra burning man-hater 😉

Well I watch big love sometimes and honestly it makes me cringe how the other families (not the main one involved ) treat the women sometimes in the series. Frightful.
I know as a divorced mom who had her ex remarry quickly, and then become a dad, there IS confusion for kids. My ex has two children, one with met and one with now his soon to be ex wife (she filed a few weeks ago).
There has to be terrible confusion with FOUR wives and umpteen children. If my son has had to deal with a few issues regarding having a half sister, then imagine how difficult it would be to have fourteen other siblings and four wanna be moms running around. Not exactly what I’d describe as family harmony and bliss.
I believe this situation would definitely take its’ toll on children.
