our wedding is at 2 o’colock until 6 o’clock. Would you want to see a sit down dinner or would just cocktails and hor dourves be fine? I am putting this wedding together in just 2 months total (talk about stress).

I said hors d’oeuvres. if your reception ends at 6pm, people will probably want to go out for dinner afterwards anyway!

I think because you’re ending right at what most consider dinner time, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres would be fine. You should probably provide some kind of listing and map for local restaurants so that your guests know where they can go. If I got an invitation for a wedding ending at dinner time, I woudl be ok with it as long as I knew were to go locally.

Because of your timeline, I think that a cocktail reception would be just fine!

I voted for hors d’oeuvres, due to the timing of your wedding/reception. People can still go out to dinner after your wedding since it ends pretty early.

I definately would not expect a sit down dinner from a wedding from 2-6, so I think hors d’oeuvres would be perfect!

Def no need for a sit-down dinner during that time! I like SugarPlum’s dinner suggestions idea too 🙂

Cocktails would be fine. I dont see why anyone would have a problem

We were in almost the exact same circumstances 2-5:30 wedding and planning the wedding in less than 5 months. We did hor d’oeurves in a buffet (rather than passed) and did have tables since our room was quite big. Worked perfect for us.

usually im a sit down meal person but because of the time i would be happy with cocktails/hor dourves – just make sure there is plenty of seating so people arent on their feet all the time

It’s not a meal time so you can easily serve appetizers only during that time. No one should expect a full meal at that time of day.
