That is the saddest thing I’ve heard in a while. I’m glad that they had a little time on this earth to meet and enjoy each other.

EDIT: Right after I finished this story I called Darling Husband to tell him how much I loved him. It’s scary to think that life is so fragile – I think I’m going to start telling him more often.

I saw this the other day and it sent me straight into my fiance’s arms telling him not to die. lol But seriously, that’s such a sad story. I’m glad they had the time they did and that she will ALWAYS have a piece of him with her no matter what. I feel like years from now, even if she’s remarried with kids, she’s always going to look back to her memories with him with love.

Bee Keeper

I have a family member who fell in love with a man, shortly thereafter they decided to wed. He was diagnosed with a colorectal cancer, at the time there were no treatments for this type of cancer. They decided to go to another country to try an experimental treatment. Things were going well, so they decided to do a destination wedding while in this beautiful country. He died four days later. I wasn’t alive for this, but this family member is forever damaged. For as long as I’ve been alive, she hasn’t dated and I don’t think she dated again after him. Heartbreaking story. I got tears in my eyes, for Betheny and for my family member. I’m gonna have to call her tomorrow and see how she’s doing. Thanks for sharing, sometimes we all need a little reminder of how short life is!
