I’m 5’4, 118lbs, I wear size 0 though my dress was a size 8. Weird. ๐Ÿ™‚

This is a street size 2, and it’s taken from a low angle which makes the torso/leg proportions look pretty unflattering. I also edited the neckline in PSE to make it look like a soft sweetheart. I am 5’5” wearing 4 inch heels, and my measurements are 32D-27-38 for reference.

I’m 5’3, 34-24-34.5, street size 0, size 2-4 in Casablanca. The sample was a 6, so it’s a little big but not bad enough that they had to clip it. I’m ordering a 4 for my chest and getting my hips and waist altered to a 2.

Also, I learned from trying on dresses that everything by Monique Lhullier will look amazing because she designs for this body type.  Too bad I can’t afford it. *sigh*

sis is tiny, she just bought pronovias balear, sweetheart strapless lace that drapes out very similar to 35. looks great on her, and she’s actually smaller than even their smallest size, so they’ve ordered that for her and will be taken it in a few inches from there! LOL such problems! hahahaha

for being small, she looked best when she showed off her figure in tighter fitting torsos, but then a larger bottom for some drama and so she would stand out in the crowd rather than taking up such little room like in a dress with less volume at the bottom.

it’s a LOT prettier in person, the way this model stands makes it so angular when it’s actually so soft and flowy! and the lace is GORG!

Just so everyone knows. . . usually models in pictures/the first sample of a dress a desginer creates are a size 0-4!  I used to work for a wedding dress designer, and all of her dresses were designed and first made in size 2. And I believe most of the models in pictures you see are in that size range– they’re just taller than the average woman.

So, for those of you who are tall and a smaller size, most things actually should look, on you, a great deal like they do on the models. For those who are shorter (I know because I am short!), it’s not that simple. ๐Ÿ™‚

I do get the desire to see dresses on real people, though. . . so many of those model shots have been altered somehow!

@chillinchillin:

OMG a dress twin?! I’m wearing the Balear in 4 weeks. I posted my pics earlier in this post, so true, the gown is 10x more pretty in person ๐Ÿ™‚

I

I’m 5’8″ tall and 125 pounds, and I wear a street size 2 or 4, depending on the particular make of the clothing.  Here I am in my dress, which is an Allure, size 6…it fits perfectly, with no alterations!  ๐Ÿ™‚  It is a huge ballgown, but I feel like I can carry it off because I am tall and have relatively broad shoulders.  I love it!

I don’t have any pictures of me in the dress because it didn’t come in yet, but I ordered a mermaid gown. I found that it was more flattering on me than the ball gowns which overwhelmed my frame.

I believe my measurements were 32-23-32. And I’m 5’7″ and ordered an allure gown size 2.

Hello ladies! Everyone is looking quite stunning in their gowns. I ran into the same problem, broad shoulers, no hips/boy shape, short. I’m 5’2, 108lbs. This is an Enzoani Elim. I ordered it in a 0.
