Dont let anyone tell you that you can only wear A-line. I found that the fit and flare actually made me look smaller. It was the bridal consultant who actually reccomended this dress and I didn’t think this would work but it totally did! I am a bit worried about my belly but I am going to just go with it.

Also, I LOVE your dress! You look wonderful!

Beautiful dresses! A few sales assistants tried to sell me on A lines and ballgowns because “it disguises your hips”. Well maybe I don’t want to disguise them! Maybe I want to display them even though they are big. To my eyes fit n flare styles were very flattering, not everyone agrees but they don’t have too. Im a size 14. Dress is arriving in April.

I don’t have pics, but the fit and flare is actually the style that looked best on me and the sales associates agreed.   My sister had been telling me that with my shape I needed a ball gown and an a-line, but when I tried those styles on they just didn’t work.  With a ball gown, I felt like I was drwoning underneath all that fabric.  Empire and A-line were a bit too demure for my personality. I remember the sales associate saying “I dont’ even know why you tried this one on” when I put on the lace A-line, lol.   I had a positive experience with the sales associate as a plus sized bride but I realize that’s not the case for everyone.  At the end of the day, it’s your money so get what you like!

I haven’t shared any pics because I’m not showing the dress to anyone outside of my mom and sister until the big day.

miam :  awe, thank you, you are very sweet! I am actually pretty average height, I am just standing on the box in this picture. I did buy this gown! I felt so va va voom in it that I had to get it. I just had that “feeling”. As for the belly… That picture hides it but you can see it in the reflection of this picture… I am going to the gym to work on it but I feel beautiful so thats all that matters! Hopefully you find what you are looking for, dont let them hold you back!

miam :  So…your umm…behind looks freaking phenomenonal in that dress, killer curves. Like it was made for you. And some shape wear will definitely smooth out any bumps in the front. I love the fabric, it is so pretty!

miam :  I tried on 1 mermaid fit gown and I felt like a stuffed sausage. I dont have curvy hips, my body is very straight. I ended up with an aline as it gave me the shape I wanted. IMG_9248
