nelliemade :  It is a bit restricted but I can walk no problem. I choose flats to go with it so that it is easier to walk. It doesnt really restrict your knees but more the lower legs. I am not worried about chaffing though, I will probably wear the spanx that are short style which will eliminate that issue.

Here is mine! I thought I wanted a-line, I didn’t think I could pull a dress like this off. But they pulled it as a “wild card” and I knew it was the one before it was zipped. I loved it! For me personally, I like a fuller skirt because I feel it balances me out a bit more. I couldn’t sit comfortably, but that’s ok, I hardly sat and it was so worth it!

miam :  thank you! It’s Essense of Australia, d1932.

Dont get hung up on the size – no one is going to see the tag. The only thing that is important is how you feel – get the dress that makes you feel amazing!

Mine is a 14 Sophia Tolli .  I have to get a corset put in because the zipper won’t ever zip no matter what kind of weight I lose…my rib cage is just to long, and since I’m 6 foot in really can’t help it .

I actually went into dress shopping with an open mind in terms of silhouette but found that A lines weren’t as flattering as more fitted dresses. I ended falling in love with this Morilee 3216 from the Julietta line.

My mom didnt like my dress or the style at all and kept telling me that mermaid dresses weren’t for plus sized girls.   My wedding isn’t until April so here are some of the ones I tried on.

RUCHING IS KEY!!!  Check out the 3 pictures below.  2 have ruching and 1 does not.  The one that doesn’t really made me paranoid about my belly.  The beading just seemed to highlight my stomach.  The ruched dresses all totally hid my gut.

The first is Maggie Sottero Divina which is what I ended up buying.  I’m a size 20/22, ordered a 22 dress.  My top half is closer to a size 16/18 so they’re taking the chest in a LOT.  This is the sample dress, not mine.

Sorry I can’t remember the brands of the others, but they were some of the more popular designers and all under $2k.

Here’s a dress I tried on yesterday while wedding shopping.

Yhe above dress is beautiful but not my style. I ended up getting the allure romance 3003 in ivory/silver

For me any non fitted dress looked bad. I may be plus sized but I have a small waist and big booty. All the shapeless dresses make me look like a potatoe lol
