Hello everyone! I’ve started the wonderful journey of picking out a wedding dress. I wear a size 28 normally so trying on dresses has been really hard. I’ve only been able to try on 2 dresses. One was a beaded empire waist dress with excessive amounts of ruffles on the skirt and the other was a satin clinched bodice dress. I wasn’t completely sold on either. I want a dress that is simple but still looks amazing. I’ve narrowed it down to four and I am just so unsure. I wasnt able to try one a natural waist dress and I was wondering if it would look nice on my body shape? I mean I like the empire waisted ones but my favorite is dress number 3

I think that a natural waist with a full a-line would be more flattering than an empire waist. Happy dress hunting!

Is the last dress a David Tutera ?? If so, it is GORGEOUS in person and would be very flattering for you

@RubyLeprechaun: I agree with charmedbee. That last one is my favorite. Add a poll!

Have you tried a dropped waist? You have a great chest, and no “tummy rolls” hehe. You have a good shape for a drop waist!

empire may make you look preggo.im a 30 bridal and thats how it was on me. i recommend a drop waist or natural waist with some sort of midline definition and a full a line skirt. what i did was trry on a couple at davids so that i knew what cut looked best and then when i went to a store that carried the designers i wanted my consultant and sister in law held them up to me so that i could imagine how i would look. i had a great consultant who also had a good ldea of how things would look on me.
this is the dress i did pick held up to me. it is a drop waist
this is my runner up that was not quite empire, but slightly higher than natural waist. the fabric did have a nice vertical line in it though

I should imagine Nr. 4 could look really good. But also the second one, which is hold on you, fits you nice. It could get you a fine shape and give you a flattering look.
Wish you all the best. You will feel it, when you find YOUR dress.

i am built a lot like you and i tried dresses like 1 and it made me look super preggo. i think nubmer 2 or 3 would be really stunning on you. i think of the 2 i prefer #2 because of the ruching. as a bigger gal i LOVE a bit of rouching becaise it makes me look slimmer also girl get yourself a GOOD corset (steel boned is the way to go) you will love it! i got mine from http://www.hipsandcurves.com and it is so freaking amazing under my dress i makes me have a 2-hour glass 🙂 also i think dress 2 would really accentuate your great bust area!
edit: FWIW the dresss i am in love with is a natural waisted fitted top and a fuller skirt and it makes me feel super skinny and amazing here i will post a pic so you can see kinda what i mean (this was without proper underthings but you can get the idea)

I think that for you since you have a slimmer waist that a ballgown corset top would look good. MoriLee’s Julietta line is the plus sized line and I think you’d look great inone of those dresses, they mostly look like corset tops, I think the waist cinching could look amazing on you since you have a bust to fill it out.

Definitely #3. I think it will look fabulous! (and hide the tummy area.)
