@saffy:  I am typically not a fan of moissy but yours is quite nice. I am a sucker for yellow gold, though πŸ˜‰

Me and my Fiance recently went ring shopping and I found so many pretty inexpensive ones at zales outlet they almost always have clearance on pre owned diamonds. Me personally Im with you its not all about the ring..Hope you find what you are looking for.

@pharmy:  I agree.  People don’t know if you inherited a stone either.

My ring is a 4.5, originally was 5 but we had to have it resized again because it was slipping off in the shower or when I did the dishes and I hated the thought of it going down the drain.

My engagement ring is actually a “promise ring” from Zales that we got for under $500 (because I do not like expensive fancy jewelry and its what we could afford).  However, due to it being a “promise” style ring I am having a hard time finding a band to match it.  So I talked with my fiance and he agreed that I could get a bridal set to replace my engagement ring.  So I am also looking for a set on a budget!

I’m trying to figure out how to post a picture of my engagement ring to show you.

Ok, here is a picture of my engagement ring (that I found out just recently is actually labeled as a “promise ring” at Zales).  I love it regardless, and I did see a similiar ring at Wal-Mart for about $300.

If that is “too cheap” like I know someone in my family mentioned to me, then I would say check out Kay Jewelers, Zales, or even Sear’s (they now carry David Tutera’s collection which is soo pretty) plus you can pay monthly if you chose to do the credit card option with the store.

My e-ring was under $2,000 at $1,400. I’m not really sure what the center stone weight is because Fiance changed out the diamond. At that price you could get this band (it’s the one I almost got) and still be at your budget. It’s from Kay and it is quite lovely in person. The photos do it no justice IMO. If you purchase the service plan sizing is free for life and if a diamond falls out they will replace it. With that band it looks fantastic! Even though you don’t get a honker center you get lots of other diamonds and beautiful detail! I get compliments often. I also know you can talk them down. Even though they are a chain if you say you’re going to buy both at the same time they will sometimes knock the price down. Or they have individual store sales, where their regional manager comes in, and everything is a couple hundred off.

Here’s mine
