I think you should go with what you like more. Bigger is not always better. A lot of the time (in my opinion) a ring would look better with a smaller diamond than a larger one but people get the larger one just because of the status. I have never looked at a ring and thought “that diamond is small” but I have looked at rings and felt that the massive rock overpowered a beautiful ring or looked silly. I never understood the shrinkage theory because your first impression is the most accurate. Even if your ring starts looking smaller to you, it will still look big to everybody else.

In the end, it is your personal preference. Do not let outside pressure effect your choice.

@StefLovesJamie:  Actually I’m having a similar experience. I also got a 1 carat equivalent moissanite, but instead of seeing shrinkage, I think it’s getting larger! haha

I have those moments, too!!!  I’m not sure what my “sweet spot” is, but I know it’s under a carat.  Or maybe 1ct, but only in a solitaire or bezel.  I guess I’m just a really simple person and I don’t like to stand out, so sometimes I feel too flashy.  I need an everyday ring that’s small and a nice flashy ring for going out.  LOL
