So, I recently posted about my wedding band, which I’ve officially decided I love and want to keep. I need help with sizing though… I have 30 days (well, more like 25 days now), to decide if this is the size for me before it’s no longer returnable. Because it’s a full eternity band, the sizing is pretty crucial. My engagement ring is a size 3.5 (actually, it’s between a 3.5 and 3.25, but it’s paperwork says it’s a 3.5). It’s always been a little on the loose side. In the summer it fits better, but has never been too tight. Even in the hotest parts of the day, I could slide it off pretty easily, especially if my hands were wet and soapy. Now that’s winter, I’m worried I’m going to lose it when my hands are really cold.
When it came time to order my wedding band, I knew I’d order a 3.25. Well, my wedding band feels quite a bit tighter than my e-ring and I’m not sure if it’s too tight or if I’m not used to wearing a properly fitted ring. My jeweler said it should “take 1 second to put on, and 3 seconds to take off.” My ring definitely feels this way most of the day, but in the morning, I really have to tug on it to take it off. As the day progresses, it gets easier. This isn’t too much of a problem now, especially since I plan to wear my wedding band daily, but I’m worried that in the summer, it will be much too tight. However, I can’t wait until the summer to find out 🙁 The width of the wedding band is 4 mm and the width of my e-ring is 2 mm… I’m wondering if the extra 2 mm is what making it feel pretty tight.
What should I do? Do I order a 3.5, with the risk that it’s also a little too lose in the winter, like my e-ring? Or do I take my chances with it this summer? Keep in my that even my small 3.5 was never very snug in the summer and I could always slide it off within a second or two. Help me bees!
